Split a video into scenes automatically

Cutting a long video by hand takes hours. Cutkaar looks at every frame, finds where the picture changes to a new shot, and cuts the clip there.

Steps

1. Import your video and add it to the timeline.
2. Right-click the video clip on the timeline.
3. Choose Split scenes. A progress bar shows how far it is.
4. When it finishes, every scene is its own clip. Delete the ones you do not need, drag to reorder, or add transitions between them.

Tips

• Long videos are fine: Cutkaar reads the file in small pieces, so even very large files do not fill your memory.
• Zoom the timeline with Ctrl + mouse wheel to see short scenes.
• Select many clips at once by dragging a box around them.
